Angoka Chooses Northern Ireland For Headquarters With New Cybersecurity Development Centre

Cybersecurity start-up, Angoka has made Belfast its HQ location of choice with a new Cybersecurity Development Centre. The company manages cybersecurity risks in connected and autonomous vehicles, smart cities and Internet of Things devices.

Its new development and delivery centre, situated at Catalyst, the Innovation Centre in Titanic Quarter, will focus on creating secure communications solutions for businesses. The company has been offered 45,000 of support from Invest Northern Ireland towards the creation of nine new jobs, four of which are in place.

Making the announcement Steve Berry (pictured left), Executive Chairman of Angoka Ltd, said: “We are hugely excited to be joining the excellent ecosystem for cybersecurity that has grown in Northern Ireland over the last number of years. Our location in Belfast will enable us to make the most of our partnership with CSIT and RISE, the UK Research Institute for Security Hardware and Embedded Systems, at Queen’s University.

“We are also looking forward to recruiting and working with high-quality engineering and cyber security candidates who have graduated from local universities. I would like to thank Invest NI for supporting our growth plans in Northern Ireland.”

Job opportunities include engineering and business analyst roles.

Our support to create the new jobs is enabling Angoka to build a team in Belfast which will provide innovative hardware solutions for managing the cybersecurity risks inherent in machine-to-machine (M2M) communication networks such as those used for connected and autonomous vehicles, Industry 4.0, smart homes and critical infrastructure.”
