Apple Under Audit by the Irish DPC
Helen Dixon, an Irish Data Protection Commissioner, will be leading a privacy audit on Apple due to the concern of a potential risk that users of Apple devices might face.
Dixon states that they have identified the risk and want to look into it farther, and that this audit will affect several data subjects.
The knowledge of this issue arose after Dixon’s organization received several complaints from the Bavarian data protection authority concerning personal data processing.
If the issues that the organization uncovers are substantive, the DPC will recommend alterations so that Apple will remain within the restrictions of the Data Protection Act.
As there has been no direct contact with Apple at the present, there is little information on the investigation.
