Argos Reports Rise in Sales
According to the Owner Home Retail Group, Argos total sales have risen by 2.6% in the past 13 weeks due to the rise in online sales.
The Visa consumer Spending Index indicates that Irish expenditure has risen in 2016. County Manager, Philip Konopik stated that this new data illustrates an economic boost that will benefit all sectors.
Despite its rising sales, Argos is carefully dealing with customers who have been wrongly overcharged on their store cards. The issue is under investigation, and Argos has also set aside £30m to refund customers who were overcharged for late fees and excess fees. This compensation will vary for each customer.
The company has also agreed to a £1.4bn take over by Saainsbury’s.
