Atlas Copco, a leading provider of sustainable productivity solutions, has completed the acquisition of Leybold Vacuum
September 1st, 2016 – Effective as of September 1, 2016, Atlas Copco AB (Stockholm, Sweden) owns the former Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum GmbH, renamed Leybold GmbH. Founded in 1873, Atlas Copco is a global player with more than 43,000 employees in over 180 countries. Leybold becomes part of the Vacuum Solutions Division, belonging to the Compressor Technique Business Area, with approximately 6,500 employees represented in over 35 countries.
With this acquisition, Atlas Copco trusts the strengths of the vacuum specialists at Leybold, founded in 1850, who will keep their traditional and well-known brand in the market. “The technological know-how and the innovative spirit of Leybold will complement our vacuum portfolio and strengthen our market presence, contributing to our customers’ success,” says Geert Follens, President of the Atlas Copco Vacuum Solutions Division.
