Casa Systems expands broadband offering with 50 new jobs in Limerick
Casa Systems has announced that it will create over 50 jobs over the next three years in Limerick, as it establishes its international operations in the city.
A provider of fixed, mobile and WiFi ultra-broadband solutions, Casa Systems has chosen Limerick to bring the company closer to its European customers as the company grows internationally. The company develops and manufactures devices to enable cable operators to fully utilise interactive digital video and broadband IP services over cable networks.
The operations at their Munster site will initially include manufacturing, distribution and customer technical support. There is also the possibility of developing research and development activities there in the future.
The Casa Systems site will be located in the National Technology Park, close to University of Limerick. The project has received support from the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through IDA Ireland.
Lucy Xie, Senior Vice President of Operations at Casa, says: “Casa is very excited to establish operations in Limerick. Workforce talent is always a key factor when selecting a new location. With a growing reputation for its highly-skilled technical, logistics and manufacturing talent pool, Limerick moved to the top of the list.”
Minister Mary Mitchell O’Connor welcomed the news, stating: “This follows on from recent jobs announcements which show that there is a momentum growing for jobs in regions around Ireland. Ireland’s growing expertise in the ICT sector and our commitment to ensuring that we can provide the requisite skills for companies like Casa Systems is clear for all to see.”
This latest jobs announcement sees Limerick pick up in October exactly where September left off. Last month, WordPress solutions provider WP Engine announced 100 new jobs, while Fazzi Healthcare Services revealed they would be creating up to 300 jobs over the next five years.
