FDT Win EnviroCom Award for Environmental Achievements
FDT Consulting Engineers & Project Managers won the EnviroCom Award on Thursday, November 10, for engaging communities in environmental projects with less than 50 employees. Hosted by the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, the 10th EnviroCom awards saw 130 guests attend the awarding ceremony at the Royal Marine Hotel.
FDT were given the award in recognition for their work supporting other companies identifying environmental improvements and pursuing green innovations. Recognized as a passionate advocate for energy efficient design, FDT were involved in developing the Irish Energy Efficient Design Management Standard. FDT also developed manufacturing processes to save energy and recover useful by-products from industrial waste.
The award was presented by An Cathaoirleach of Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Council, Cormac Devlin, and the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Mary Mitchell O’Connor.
DLR County Council Green Business Officer Margaret Coles said of the nominees that the “impressive scope and scale of their environmental actions” made the selection of winners a “real challenge” for the judges.
