JFC sets target of €100m
Plastic products company, JFC Manufacturing, is launching a marine products division in a move to double sales to €100m by 2020.
The Glaway based company, which makes agriculture and civil engineering products such as buckets and pipes, will unveil the new business this week after spending up to €3.5m on research and product development in the past five years.
John Concannon, founder and chief executive of JFC, said the company was one of two final bidders for a multimillion-euro international contract to supply 180 products, including buoys and navigation beacons.
The marine products will be manufactured from JFC’s 130,000 sq ft factory in Tuam, Co. Galway. The factory itself expanded last year after JFC bought an extra 56,000 sq ft building.
The company which already employs 250 people has operations in the UK, Holland and Poland. They are currently on the look out for talented people in R&D, engineering and manufacturing.
