Kloosterboer to Open New Cold Store Facility in Poland

Kloosterboer, in collaboration with PAOP (Północnoatlantycka Organizacja Producentów), is to open a 30,000 tonne capacity cold store in the Polish port city of Gdansk. The cold store, which will be managed by Kloosterboer, will be in use by March/April 2014.

Kloosterboer Gdansk will feature its own EU veterinary inspection point as well as licenses for the import of veterinary products fromEuropeand other countries. The new premises is located in the ‘Duty Free’ zone, right at the entrance of Gdank’s seaport and will be able to handle cargo from fishing trawlers and reefer ships via its own private dock.

The cold store is a strategic addition to Kloosterboer’s existing network and will be dedicated to the supply, storage and distribution of conditioned fish products to countries which will include, amongst others, central and eastern Europe.

Gdansk is one of the fastest growing ports on the Baltic coast with extremely advantageous hinterland connections. The port features both modern short sea and deep sea container terminals only 4 and 10 km away respectively from the new Kloosterboer cold store.
