New limited edition tins for iconic Hamlet brand
JTI is introducing four limited edition tins for its Hamlet cigar brand in time for the festive season.
Four “Manly Knowledge” designs inside the inner lids of Hamlet Miniature 10s aim to differentiate the cigar from competitors while stay true to its brand values.
One knowledge tip reads: “One or the Other: Traditional braces or a smart leather belt. A gentleman may employ either to support his trousers. Using both together, however, is not appropriate attire.”
Demand for cigars typically increases over Christmas, said head of communications Jeremy Blackburn, hoping more customers would pay £4.57 RRP for a pack of miniature 10s.
JTI said more than 40m cigars were sold in December 2012 racking up more than £25m in retail sales. This marked a 6.2% increase on last November.
Hamlet meanwhile hogs a third of volumes and has remained at the top of the cigar market for more than 37 years. Retail sales total £111m.
