NYPRO to let go 47 of it’s staff in Waterford
Medical Device company NYPRO Healthcare Ireland has announced that it will let go 47 of its staff at it’s Waterford facility.
The company said that it is releasing a number of agency workers and fixed term contract staff due to a temporary downturn in demand.
The Waterford plant, which opened in 2013, manufactures advanced respiratory and injectable devices for healthcare and pharmaceutical companies.
Nypro, which operates two facilities in Ireland, one in Bray, Co Wicklow and the other in Waterford City. The medical device company has transformed itself in recent years from focusing on the electronics industry to moving towards the development and manufacture of complex high-growth inhalation and injectable drug delivery devices.
The group is ultimately owned by manufacturing services firm Jabil Circuit, which has its headquarters in Florida and is the third largest contract manufacturer in the world.
