Paddy Power opens its 600th outlet
Paddy Power has opened its 600th shop, with a new outlet in Kimmage in Dublin.
The bookie chain now has 268 shops on the island of Ireland and 332 in the UK.
A spokesperson for the company said it was delighted to be opening its landmark 600th retail outlet and look forward to bringing Paddy Power value to the area.
Paddy Power recently completed a merger deal with UK firm Betfair to create one of the world’s largest public online betting and gaming companies.
The merger saw Paddy Power shareholders owning 52% of Paddy Power Betfair and Betfair Shareholders owning 48% of Paddy Power Betfair on a fully diluted basis.
Paddy Power shareholders also received a special dividend of €80m just before the deal closed.
Paddy Power Betfair is headquartered in Dublin and is an Irish bookmaker. Offline it conducts business through a chain of licensed betting shops in Ireland and the United Kingdom, and by operating Ireland’s largest telephone betting service. Online it offers sports betting, online poker, online bingo, online casino games, and spread betting.
