Profits and Revenue Rise For theKeyCollections
Newly-filed accounts for the Dublin-based tourist accommodation business theKeyCollections reveal that the group’s full year profits for 2017 rose by over 33% to €1.2 million with group revenues increasing to €22.5 million, representing growth of over 22%. Group Marketing Manager Christopher Kenny attributes the positive results to: “Favourable market conditions in the Dublin hotel market which resulted in occupancy rates of over 98% for our Dublin hotels in 2017 and our ongoing acquisitions. 2017 saw theKeyCollections sign a long-term management contract for the 35-bedroom Camden Hotel, formally the Camden Deluxe Hotel, which was immediately revenue enhancing.”
TheKeyCollections which was launched in 2012 employs over 300 people across all of its properties and in its head office, which is located in Ballycoolin, Dublin 15. This year the Irish tourist accommodation provider added The Exhibitionist and Gainsborough Hotels in South Kensington, London and The Gate Hotel in Dublin to theKeyCollections’ growing portfolio of hotels, bringing the number of hotels from five and seven overall.
TheKeyCollections is owned by Nina Gillett and Sheila O’Riordan (pictured). Nina and Sheila both operated individual hotel consultancy companies and in 2011 they combined their resources to operate Roomyield Ltd which offered room yield management and sales services to over 40 client hotels in Ireland and several locations abroad. In 2012 the two business women started entering into leases to operate hotels and guesthouses in Dublin, which resulted in their company growing from a purely consultancy firm, to a company that manage and operates properties in Dublin, London and Carrick-on-Shannon.
