Ryanair carries 7.5m passengers in one month
Ryanair carried a record 7.5 million passengers last month, according to the airline’s latest figures. That marks an increase in traffic of 25% on last year.
Ryanair said the results were down to offering lower fares in order to increase the number of people it carried on each flight.
It said the latest figures marked continued success of its Always Getting Better – branding campaign.
Rolling annual traffic to Jan grew 17% to 102.9m customers.
Ryanair was set up in 1985 by the Ryan family with a share capital of just £1, and a staff of 25. It launched its first route in July with daily flights on a 15-seater Bandeirante aircraft, operating daily from Waterford in the southeast of Ireland to London Gatwick.
