Skillnet Ireland Wins Big at Top Digital Awards 2019
Skillnet Ireland, the national agency responsible for the promotion and facilitation of workforce learning, won big at the recent 2019 Digital Media Awards , picking up the award for Best Brand. Other finalists in the ‘Best Brand’ category included Diet Coke, BMW, Thérapie Clinic and 98FM.
Established in 2005, the Digital Media Awards are the most prestigious digital awards in Ireland. They recognise creativity and innovation across multiple areas of an ever-evolving sector which includes digital content creation, advertising and marketing, mobile media, social networking including app development, web design and development.
Skillnet Ireland’s entry – ‘embracing digital to tell the story of Ireland’s best kept secret through a people-led approach’ demonstrated the impact and value of workforce development to Irish businesses by harnessing the human-interest stories from small to medium sized (SMEs) enterprises.
Two crucial steps in telling this story with impact, was Skillnet Ireland’s investment in developing a collective identity for the 65+ Skillnet Learning Networks which resulted in a more cohesive brand experience, and an organisational wide transformation to a digital-first communications strategy.
Embracing digital technology has allowed Skillnet Ireland to help raise awareness of the benefits of lifelong learning and also educate people on the importance of prioritising their own professional development to achieve long term career success.
Paul Healy, Chief Executive of Skillnet Ireland who accepted the award, said; “Together with our 65+ learning networks, Skillnet Ireland has worked tirelessly to promote and facilitate workforce learning in Ireland. Adopting a collective brand identity and digital-first communications strategy has enabled us to highlight and promote the importance and benefits of upskilling. Winning Best Brand at the Digital Media Awards is a testimony to the exciting journey that Skillnet Ireland is on and a proud occasion for the Skillnet Ireland community and our enterprise-partners right across Ireland.”
Skillnet Ireland was also shortlisted for the ‘Best in Public Service Award’. For a full list of award winners, visit the Digital Media Awards 2019 website.
