Still Time to Register to Attend The 2020 National Manufacturing & Supply Chain Conference & Exhibition – 29-30th January, Citywest Exhibition Centre, Dublin
There is still time to register to attend the 2020 National Manufacturing and Supply Chain Conference & Exhibition, which has been extended to a two-day event to meet growing demand, after setting a new record in terms of its scale and visitor numbers last year. Incorporating a comprehensive conference programme and an extensive exhibition area displaying the latest technological solutions and business services available, the 2020 National Manufacturing and Supply Chain Conference & Exhibition is being held on Wednesday, 29th, and Thursday, 30th of January at the Citywest Exhibition Centre in Dublin.
Registration for the free to attend the event is as follows: Day 1 (January 29th) – 9.00 am to 4.00 pm; Day 2 (January 30th) – 9.00 am to 3.00 pm. To register visit http://www.manufacturingevent.com/delegates/.
The largest event of its kind in Ireland, it provides a national forum for manufacturers and operators involved throughout the associated supply chains, including the food, pharmaceutical, medical, chemical, life sciences and electronics sectors, to gather to discuss pressing issues facing Irish industry.
Major Challenges
Of course, ‘Brexit’ will be high on the agenda at the 2020 National Manufacturing and Supply Chain Conference & Exhibition. Economic and political uncertainty due to ‘Brexit’ as well as the possibility of international ‘trade wars’ precipitating a global recession have been impacting on investment decisions.
With some clarity now starting to dispel the cloud of uncertainty that has been hanging over business since the Referendum Vote in 2016, the Brexit Summit, which is an integral part of the 2020 National Manufacturing and Supply Chain Conference & Exhibition, is timely as it falls on the eve of Brexit day on January 31st.
A trade deal regulating the UK’s future relationship with the EU is to be concluded by the end of 2020, unless an extension is sought before the June 30th deadline. Given the complexity of trade deals of this nature, such a short timetable seems highly ambitious.
A panel of experts has been assembled for the Brexit Summit to look beyond the political rhetoric to the commercial realities, and to provide practical advice on how to prepare for Brexit now that the implications for Irish businesses and their supply chains are becoming clearer. In addition to the challenges posed by Brexit, the event will also highlight some of the opportunities.
Another major challenge facing the Irish manufacturing industry is adapting to the disruptive changes generated by the digital revolution and the ‘Fourth Industrial Revolution’ (Industry 4.0). This upheaval is creating both obstacles and opportunities for Irish manufacturers and their supply chain operators, who must evolve accordingly by adopting new technologies and skill sets.
The 2020 National Manufacturing & Supply Chain Conference & Exhibition will highlight the key trends facing the industry, while also offering practical solutions, as well as showcasing the latest innovations, developments in best practice and new technological advances.
Industrial Revolutionary to Speak
A major coup for the event organiser, Premier Publishing & Events, is the presence of Henrik von Scheel at the 2020 National Manufacturing & Supply Chain Conference & Exhibition.
Credited with being the originator of the ‘Fourth Industrial Revolution’ (Industry 4.0) and named by the Financial Times as one of the leading authorities on strategy and competitiveness, Henrik von Scheel is scheduled to deliver a series of keynote addresses on Irish manufacturing, Industry 4.0 and Automation under the following titles – ‘The great Manufacturing re-make: Ireland’s Economy future of Productivity and Growth’; ‘Industry 4.0 demystified: Move beyond the hype to delivery business value’; and ‘Smart Automation – the engine at the core of the next-generation operating mode’.
Co-located Events
A distinctive feature of the National Manufacturing & Supply Chain Conference & Exhibition is that it incorporates several complementary events – all under one roof. The co-located events include: the Automation and Robotics Event; the IOT & Industry 4.0 Expo; 3 D Printing Expo; Lab2Cleanroom Live; the National Sustainability Summit; the National Medtech & Biotech Summit; the National Pharmaceutical & Life Sciences Expo; the National Procurement Summit; the Plastics, Printing & Packaging Show; the Supply Chain & Logistics Expo; and the Lean Productivity and Continuous Improvement Summit. Visitors are free to move between the different events.
2020 IMR Manufacturing and Supply Chain Awards
The announcement of the winners of the 2020 IMR Manufacturing and Supply Chain Awards at a special presentation dinner at the nearby Citywest Hotel will mark a fitting conclusion to the opening day of the 2020 National Manufacturing & Supply Chain Conference & Exhibition. Covering 15 categories, the Awards were established in order to recognise excellence and raise standards across the manufacturing industry and its associated supply chain.
Open to all companies on the island of Ireland, the Awards competition highlights the implementation of smart thinking to enable competitive manufacturing, while reflecting Ireland’s capacity to deliver world class manufacturing and attract inward investment.
The Awards are run by Premier Publishing & Events in association with Irish Manufacturing Research (IMR), the independent not-for-profit Research Organisation, funded under the Enterprise Ireland/IDA Technology Centres programme, to provide applied research solutions and advanced manufacturing expertise, technology transfer and training to the manufacturing sector in Ireland.
